New features in Blocky for Veeam® for optimized backup ransomware protection

Schwäbisch-Gmünd, April 8, 2025 – GRAU DATA presents its latest version of the backup ransomware protection Blocky for Veeam® 3.5. Blocky for Veeam® is easy to install and intuitive to use. It is currently the only ransomware protection for backups that is based directly on the Veeam Windows Server and uses the proven GRAU DATA WORM (Write Once, Read Many) technology to create an unalterable protective shield for Veeam backups.

The new version of Blocky for Veeam® 3.5 now offers two additional functions that increase the security of protected customer systems.
With the help of the optional multi-factor authentication that can be activated, administrators are able to significantly strengthen the level of protection at system level. The administration of GRAU DATA Blocky for Veeam®, which is standardized with secure passwords, is even better protected against unauthorized access with multi-factor authentication.

The new disk protection in Blocky for Veeam® strengthens resilience against ransomware attacks. In addition to the previous security of backup data at the file system level, this new function now also actively protects physical disks against manipulation. With WORM security for the Windows VBR, companies protect their valuable Veeam backup data from cyber attacks, tampering and accidental deletion. Real-time protection prevents unwanted changes and protects against malicious tampering. The immutability mode locks disc contents against any unauthorized modification.
