Requirements

A video production company producing various formats on a daily basis, ranging from blockbuster films to mini trailers and wanting to archive data from four high-performance video servers.

Goal

A centralized archiving solution based on Linux, flexibly scalable, cost-effective and easy to manage. The existing application software which was developed in-house is to be used and integrated in combination with the ARCHIVEMANAGER.

Solution

The data to be archived is written by four video servers to a separate assigned ARCHIVEMANAGER server. The clients are each fitted with 2 TB fast disk storage units in order to ensure no interruptions to the streaming performance to the Video Servers. The ARCHIVEMANAGER clients migrate the data to the central server which then writes them to an LTO library which has 100 TB of capacity in the initial stage of expansion.

Result

Large flows of data can be archived at high-performance levels, cost-effectively and securely.
